The NBA veteran has purchased 1,000 tickets for the Timberwolves' game against the Clippers tonight, and the team said that the first 500 fans to claim them via the club's website on Monday morning would receive two tickets apiece.
Garnett, 38, said in a statement distributed by the team that the response and support he's received since the Wolves reacquired him in a trade "has been nothing short of amazing" and "unbelievable." "As a gesture of thanks, I would like to treat some fans to Monday night's game against the Clippers. Love you all, and thanks for the love. Enjoy the game on me," he said in the statement.
Kevin Garnett, in his 20th season in the NBA, played his first 12 years with the Timberwolves. He was traded back to Minnesota from the Brooklyn Nets during the trade deadline.
